The Gingerlilies of Singapore Botanic Garden are such an astonishingly beautiful flowers and have a variety of goddess sounding names from Indonesian Tall Ginger, Rose de Porcelaine and Sceptre of the Emperor.

Their buds are used an an ingredient in Nonya or Peranankan Asian Cooking and as a valuable medicinal herb. They are the superflower of the humid tropics the heat of which they need to bring forth their beauty.
