Central Business District - Original Painting

£4,000.00 GBP

This painting is of Singapore's Merlion. The Merlion has the head of a lion and the body of a fish. It's name combines 'Mer' meaning sea and 'Lion'. The statue's fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek which means 'Sea Town' in Javanese. Behind the Merlion is the Grand Colonial building of the historic Fullerton Hotel dwarfed by the shiny skyscrapers of the Central Business District one of the main trading centres in South East Asia.
