Researching Floriography (the language of Flowers) as well as the history of Flowers, I uncovered my favourite and most fragrant flower, the Blue Hyacinth, was adored by Madame de Pompadour who grew hundreds in her Palace Garden and adorned the ladies of the Palace with them.
They represent playfulness & joviality, perfect for their Palace Balls.
The Blue Hyacinth is the most fragrant of all Hyacinths and it's perfume increases in strength as their individual starfish-shaped petals open.
It's Greek name translates to 'Flower of Rain' and it is loved by Perfumiers as its highly precious oil takes 6000kg of flowers to make 1kg of Hyacinth Oil.
