My next 'Flowers from the Garden' (Number 77!) for sale is this framed painting on handmade paper called ‘Lanten Rose in a Japanese Vase’

I’m inspired to use a blue and white palette after investing in some beautiful porcelain pieces from porcelain maker Claire Scott and I’m pairing them with seasonal flowers including the Hellebores I can see from my kitchen window.
These gorgeous blooms that grow under the huge Pine Tree outside are also known as Lanten Rose & Water Rose - they are so pretty but not an actual Rose as they are a member of the Buttercup Family or the Rannunculacea.
I want to capture their beauty in the watercolour and ink paintings I’m creating. They have beautiful plummy purple petals lined with vein like pattern and delicate pale green stamens inside.
