Sultan Mosque sits in the heart of Kampong Glam District with its massive gold domes and huge prayer hall. The Sultan Mosque is one of Singapore's most impressive religious buildings and the focal point of Muslims in Singapore. The Mosque was built in 1824 for Sultan Hussain Shah, the first Sultan of Singapore and his followers with a grant from The British East India Company.
