'This week the Hellebores have come out abundantly in the back garden one after the other like a Hellebore carpet.

They are a plummy red colour and despite being in water develop a sort of brooding droopy quality over the course of the day like dancers fatigued at the end of an evening dancing.

I love how some of them eventually laid their petalled heads on the table as if a little inebriated.' - Clare
