'I foraged the elderberries from a tree close to the studio as well as the Passiflora or Passion Flower from the garden for this piece.
Two spectacular medicinal plants that are used to heal our bodies and balance our emotions. Flowers and plants are just amazing in what they deliver and I am loving delving more into the symbolism, folklore and their significance in plant medicine, it's providing such inspiration for my creativity. In fact the flowers in general have brought such an opportunity to join up two things I love - healing arts and the creative arts!
I have used a vintage glass vase and duck egg blue as the backdrop for these early autumn flowers and berries. Passionflower tea is used as a remedy to aid sleep and anxiety and the Elderberries have been used for centuries as a potent remedy for respiratory illness and as a super booster for the immune system.
The garden delivers such a seductive combination of flowers and berries that represents a very British Hedgerow & English Garden don’t you think?'

Created as part of the Artist Support Pledge - an amazing initiative bringing much needed help to all creatives. Artists like me offer up original artwork for £200 and under and pledge to buy other makers' work when £1000 of sales are reached. I have been humbled by the support of my collectors and, through the success of so many pieces selling, I have been able to invest in some stunning ceramics from other designer makers such as Claire Scott, Silvia K and many more.
